Guest Speaker – Rev. John Schaffer

Rev. John Schaffer is Executive Director of Capital Area Pregnancy Centers Life Choices Clinic (CAPC) since December 2005. CAPC was established in 1985 and is an Evangelistic, pro-life ministry (never recommend or refer for abortions) and receives no Government monies. It has two main service areas. Number 1 is Intervention which is helping families and individuals during times of Unplanned Pregnancies with medical help, information resources (parenting or adoption), skill enhancements (counseling), and material aid (clothing, baby items, etc.). Number 2 in Restoration which is Abortion Recovery Ministry (ARM). This includes Post Abortion counseling and education. This is a 10-week group counseling designed to assist those impacted by abortion.
John has a Bachelor of Science in Bible, Minored in Social Work from Philadelphia College of Bible, a Master of Science in Christian Counseling from Philadelphia College of Bible, Certificate of Biblical Counseling, and was Ordained by Bible Baptist Church in Shiremanstown, PA. He was on staff for five summers at Harvey Cedars Bible Conference. He served in various Youth Ministries while at the Bible College and other Christian Ministries; such as, Jr. High Youth Leader, College/Career Youth Leader/ Senior Saints Sunday School teacher, young marrieds leader, was a Deacon, and was a member of the Christian School Board at Bible Baptist School for 9 years. He is married to Jennifer (37 years), and has 2 sons and 2 grandchildren. His interests include coaching Youth Soccer, Jr. High Soccer, Youth Basketball and Senior High Basketball. He is a retired FIFA Soccer Referee (under 8’s to men’s semi-pro). He enjoys being a guest speaker/lecturer, speaking at school assemblies, and is a History buff particularly World War 2.
Therefore, our Missions and Ministries Commission has designated all funds collected in Missionary offering envelopes and in the basket in the narthex on Sunday, October 13th and Sunday October 20th to go to this project. Make checks payable to Camp Hill Church of God and write “CAPC” on the memo line.
